Conor McGregor says he will make his long-awaited UFC return against Michael Chandler in Las Vegas on June 29.

In a video posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, on New Year's Eve, McGregor announced he was to fight Chandler at 185lbs - a weight class that neither have previously fought at - during International Fight Week.

In the post, McGregor described the planned bout as "the greatest comeback of all time".

McGregor (22-6) hasn't competed since breaking a leg in July 2021 during his second consecutive loss to Dustin Poirier.

Chandler (23-8), who is a former three-time Bellator lightweight champion, has lost three of his last four fights - including a defeat to Poirier in November, 2022.

The rivals, who coached against each other on The Ultimate Fighter in May, were expected to fight in December before McGregor's return was delayed by his absence from the USADA drug-testing pool.
